Drive under control – a new function of the IBOMBO station
New at IBOMBO bicycle repair stations – chain wear meter
Chain wear is a natural process that develops gradually and often goes unnoticed for a long time. Only over time does it begin to affect gear shifting precision, ride comfort, and the durability of the entire drivetrain.
To make it easier for cyclists to monitor the condition of their drivetrain, IBOMBO bicycle repair stations can be equipped with our proprietary chain wear gauge. This practical tool allows you to assess the level of chain wear in just a few seconds and make early decisions about replacement.
The gauge was developed by the IBOMBO team specifically for use in public spaces. Made of AISI 316 stainless steel and finished with a nickel-plated coating, it is highly resistant to corrosion and harsh weather conditions. This makes it suitable for both urban cycling infrastructure and locations near coastlines.
An excessively stretched chain accelerates cassette and sprocket wear, impairs derailleur operation, and increases bicycle operating costs. With the gauge available at bicycle repair stations, users can check the condition of their drivetrain themselves without the need for a service visit or specialized knowledge.
This compact tool combines several practical functions useful for everyday bicycle use:
- Chain wear check (0%, 50%, 75%)
- Measurement of bolt thread size (M3–M8)
- Measurement of bolt length (0–60 mm)
- Loosening and tightening of Presta valves
- Chain hook
- Bottle cap opener
This small component significantly enhances the functionality of IBOMBO bicycle repair stations. The gauge is available both as an accessory for new stations and as an optional retrofit for existing bicycle repair stations.
